Deactivate Google Software Update Mac






How can i disable "google software update" on mac os x 10.10.5? a window keeps opening saying google software update quit unexpectedly. this is a fairly recent phenomenon - perhaps following an update to google earth?. Google's automatic update software gets installed behind the scenes on your mac, without your consent. this how-to explains why it's there, how to manage it and how to delete it if you don't need it.. To my surprise, "google software update" seems to be installed on my mac, and is trying to connect to google analytics. i deleted chrome, so i don't see why this should be installed. using finder, i can't find any "google" software using the search feature..

Googleupdate = bloatware/malware/garbage. after disabling the scheduled tasks, disabling the service and rebooting, even with google earth set to not download updates, googleupdate.exe was still coming up in task manager.. Also, once google updater is installed, you can see which google software you have already installed. finally, google updater provides you with a central place for discovering and downloading more google software..
